Whole team

The rest of our team arrived safely yesterday evening and were greeted by members of team A dressed in their onsies - just to prove that after 4 weeks in Africa you will be completely crazy!

About Me

Wild in Botswana 2012: Two teams of Explorer Scouts, Network Scouts and Leaders will be based in northern Botswana, on the edge of the Okavango Delta. We will spend 5 weeks each during July and August working closely with the local Scouts and aim to create a campsite and training centre. This will enable Botswana Scouts to educate Scouts and other visitors in the importance of conserving wildlife while also preserving a natural area and allowing space for local species to thrive. While in Botswana the Scouts will be under canvas and will share meals and social time with our Botswana hosts. The emphasis will be on the projects although some free time will allow more of the country to be visited and give a break from the hard work. The main project will be the construction of a 40’ x 60’ block built hall with 2 toilets, a storage room and a kitchen. This will be an education and training hut. An ablution block will also be constructed; the size of this and any other building will depend on finances available.
